Blocking an IP Address

For a variety of reasons, there are times when users may wish to omit certain traffic from Analytics. BL.INK has you covered.

Blocking an IP Address

With two clicks, users can easily remove any IP address from all future reporting.

Start by logging in to the BL.INK account. Click Admin > Blocked IPs. From here, users can view, manage, or add IP addresses to the blocked list.

To block an IP address, simply type in the IP address in the IP Address to block field, select the domain(s), and then click Add Blocked IP.

From this page, any IP addresses that have previously been blocked will be listed.

To unblock an IP address that was previously blocked, simply find the IP address in the list and click the Trash Can Icon to the right. A window will pop up confirming the deletion, and select OK.

Once an IP address has been blocked, it will be omitted from all future traffic statistics.

NOTE:

When the click originally enters into the BL.INK system, it will be visible in the Analytics. A process that runs every minute or two analyzes each click. If the IP address is on the Blocked IP List, it will be removed at that time. This can be confusing during testing when traffic is coming in from a blocked IP. It will disappear from the stats log within a few minutes.
