The Domains page in BL.INK gives Account Admins greater control over domain settings, including custom 404 destinations, home page redirects, and assigning a default QR code template. This article explains each setting and how to manage them.
What is a Custom 404 Redirect?
The custom 404 URL setting allows you to define a URL that visitors are redirected to when they click a deleted or broken link or scan a QR code that no longer works. All broken or deleted links under the selected domain will redirect to the URL you set as the 404 destination.
What is a Home Page Redirect?
The home page URL setting allows you to define a destination for visitors who navigate to the domain without a keyword or hash, or click a link/scan a QR code that has been archived.
Managing Domain Settings in BL.INK Enterprise
To manage domain settings, start by logging in to BL.INK.
In the left navigation bar, click Admin > Domains.
Locate the domain you want to update in the table view and click on it. This opens a drawer on the right.
TIP:
If you have multiple domains, use the filtering and search options to narrow down the results.
In the drawer, you’ll see the Domain ID, Domain Name, a Status toggle, and Created Date.
The Status toggle allows you to deactivate a domain if it is no longer needed. Disabling the domain hides it from the domain drop-down and prevents new link creation.
CAUTION:
Deactivating a domain will interrupt redirects. Only use this if you’re sure the domain and associated links are no longer needed.
To manage additional settings, click the Edit button in the upper-right corner.
From the edit view, you’ll see text inputs for the Home Page URL and Custom 404 URL. Below, you’ll have the option to choose a default QR template from the dropdown.
Enter your home page and custom 404 redirect URLs, select a default QR template, and click Save to apply the changes.
