Blocking an IP Address

For a variety of reasons, there are times when you may wish to omit certain traffic from your Analytics. BL.INK has you covered.

Blocking an IP Address

With two clicks, you can easily remove any IP address from all future reporting.

Start by logging in to your BL.INK account. Click Admin > Blocked IPs. From here, you can view, manage or add IP addresses to the blocked list.

To block an IP address, simply type in the IP address in the IP Address to block field, select Smart Links or All, and then click Add Blocked IP.

From this page, you'll also see any IP addresses you have previously blocked.

To unblock an IP address that was previously blocked, simply find the IP address in the list and click the Trash Can Icon to the right. A window will pop up confirming the deletion, and you'll select OK.

Once you block an IP address, it will be omitted from all future traffic statistics.

Note: When the click originally enters into the BL.INK system, it will be visible in the Analytics. A process that runs every minute or two analyzes each click. If the IP address is on the Block List, then it will be removed at that time. This can be confusing during testing when traffic is coming in from a blocked IP. It will disappear from the stats log within a few minutes.
